DECA

Where: Mrs. Simmons' room

 

Who: All Buford Middle School students are invited to join.

 

What: DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Special Notes:

  • Students MUST also turn in a Wolfpack from to Mrs. Simmons or Mrs. Greer in order to participate in DECA after school In the event parents/guardians are later than 4:10 pm, students will be sent to Wolfpack and will be responsible for the Wolfpack weekly rate.
  • Families may pick up students participating in DECA in the front of the building under the portico promptly at 4:00 pm.
  • $35.00 membership fee (paid on MyPaymentsPlus - will be available July 31st)
  • T-shirts will be sold separately for $15.00 (optional - paid on MyPaymentsPlus - Will be available by mid-August)

DECA meetings will be held once a month from 2:45-4:00 in Mrs. Simmons' room. Through DECA, students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in class to a valuable real-world setting! During the year, there will be opportunities through DECA to attend leadership conferences and fun events (like Six Flags), participate in community service, sharpen employable skills, become career ready, and participate in DECA competitions at the regional, state (Atlanta, GA), and national level (Anaheim, CA). DECA is an internationally recognized association, and BMS DECA is a great way to learn about DECA before joining DECA at BHS. This year's theme is "Experience the Difference".
