Where: 7th grade students meets with Mrs. Ingram in the 7th grade science lab; 8th grade students meet with Mrs. Shirley in her classroom
What is the Student Leadership Council?
The Student Leadership Council is comprised of 7th- and 8th-grade students who assume the role of leading and helping other students and adults in our school and community.
SLC members are trained in the following areas during FLEX time:

SLC members are trained in the following areas during FLEX time:
- Character and Leadership
- Communication
- Community Service
SLC Duties:
- Be a role model for other students both inside and outside the classroom
- Participate in leadership training activities provided during FLEX such as assigned reading, community service projects, group discussion, etc.
- Lead new student tours and provide friendship and support to new students
- Assist the counseling staff with special events and projects such as Career Day, rising 6th-grade orientation, etc.

- Gets along well with others

- Is respected by peers
- Does not give in to negative peer pressure
- Is confident when presenting or talking to other students

Selection Process:
Application Review:
A team of teachers, counselors, and administrators will review student applications as well as other information such as grades, attendance, and discipline history. An interview may be required. The number of student able to participate in SLC is limited, so unfortunately, not all applicants will be able to participate.
