Where: Mrs. Simmons' room (100). **Member meetings starting in September will be held at BHS. Eighth graders will ride the activity bus from BMS to BHS and be picked up promptly at 3:30 p.m. in front of the academic building. Members must RSVP before attending each meeting.**

Student Pickup: Families may pick up students in the front of the BHS academic building 3:30 p.m.

 

What: DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

 

This year, BMS DECA is only for 8th grade students. The first informational meeting will be in Coach Simmons' room (200) on Thursday, August 27th from 2:45pm - 3:45pm. After the first informational meeting in August, 8th graders will have the opportunity to ride the activity bus to BHS and attend BHS DECA meetings. There will be monthly meetings, leadership conferences, volunteer opportunities, and competitions available for students to sign up for and attend throughout the year. Once students join, more specific information will be sent out from Coach Simmons. DECA is an internationally recognized association, and BMS DECA is a great way to learn about DECA and apply what they have learned in class to a real-world setting. 

 

How: Students will join after the first informational meeting on Thursday, August 27th by paying via cash or check to Coach Simmons. The deadline to join will be Friday, September 25th. Club dues include state and national registration, snacks at meetings, and a club t-shirt!
